Who is This Jake Anyway?

Aside from our jaunty name, we are known for our innovative, integrated approach to digital marketing. We are a group of strategists, artists and engineers working together to deliver creative solutions that build business.

Visit Our Studio

Our studio is located at 3214 O Street, NW, just blocks from Georgetown University. Like our design aesthetic, we prefer modern interiors -– clean, bright and functional. Large whiteboards for brainstorming, a dedicated conference area for client meetings and a private backyard garden ensure that our team has enough creative space to come up with inspired ideas.

Since 2005, Mark Wahl has served as the Jake Group’s Technical Director where he oversees all technical business decisions and manages the interactive production team. Mark brings over 20 years of technical experience to the studio, and is responsible for the entire life cycle of highly complex projects, including research and analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation. Previous to joining the Jake Group, Mark managed a private web communications consulting firm with clients ranging from Georgetown University to the World Bank Group. He received his B.A. from SUNY-Geneseo and M.A. in Communication, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University.

In my own words...
Work Philosophy

Talk about real client goals first, last and everywhere in between. Make sure project tactics serve those goals, not the other way around.

Most Notable Project

Shakespeare Theatre Company -- Our audience analysis work provided the foundation for the site’s structure and content strategy, but the fun really started when we were called in last minute to help STC’s team move site development across the finish line. It was a great challenge and I really enjoyed working on an arts-related project.

Favorite Pastimes

Baseball in all its forms, especially the NY Yankees; hiking and camping; building and woodworking; reading.

Favorite App

Google Sky Map -- I’ve always had an interest in astronomy, and this app lets me explore and identify more in the sky than my puny brain ever could on its own. Plus, my kids think I’m a constellation wiz!

Weirdest Hobby

I built my own apple press to make homemade apple cider and wine and we throw an annual Applefest to celebrate nature's greatest fruit.
