The Jake Group is a boutique digital agency in the Washington, DC metro area developing custom digital marketing solutions for a wide variety of clients. We are seeking a well-rounded Web Developer to join our growing team. This position works with the development team to manage existing projects and implement interactive solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Take responsibility for a large portfolio of existing website projects including ongoing maintenance, security and performance upgrades, and day-to-day support;
• Work with a fast-paced web team to produce high-quality and innovative digital projects using WordPress and an array of other web development tools, with emphasis on front-end design and features;
• Collaborate to improve and expand our product and service offerings, as well as client relationships.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong development expertise using core tools HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP;
• Experience working with WordPress, building custom WordPress themes and/or plugins, and configuring content using custom fields;
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and comfort working with clients;
• Familiarity working in a collaborative development workflow using virtual development environments, version control systems, and command line interface to support the deployment and maintenance of web projects;
• Experience with modern front-end Javascript frameworks such as React, Angular, etc., as well as jQuery library;
• Detail-oriented approach to editing and testing websites for accuracy, usability, and accessibility;
• Familiarity with SEO best practices, structured data protocols, social media integration, website analytics, and other online marketing strategies to promote ongoing website growth;
• Comfortable working as part of a small and busy creative team; and
• Ability to adhere to production schedules and work under tight deadlines.
