The Jake Group is hiring an Interactive Designer who has passion for modern and artful web design, a love of problem-solving, and an exceptional eye for detail. This position is unique because of the wide range of projects you’ll have the opportunity to lead. While the focus is on creating bespoke, functional user interfaces, you will also contribute to other projects, including branded collateral for events and social media, animated graphics, video editing, and more!

Responsibilities include:

• Design elegant, modern websites and user interfaces, for development primarily in WordPress and Shopify
• Create visual design assets for other digital media, such as banner ads, storyboards, social media graphics, and more
• Contribute to User Experience and Information Architecture planning processes
• Work with our Creative Director, development team, clients, and vendors in a collaborative setting
• Present design composites to clients for feedback and approval
• Effectively manage time and concurrent design efforts
• Provide estimates on level of effort for requested projects
• Assist in creating and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and entrepreneurial thinking on the team

Requirements:

• 5+ years of responsive and interaction design experience
• Expert knowledge of design tools, such as Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite programs including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.
• Working knowledge of prototyping tools such as InVision
• Experience working with content management systems and hosted platforms such as WordPress and Shopify
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Bachelor’s degree in visual design or relevant expertise
• Strong portfolio of print and digital work
